You Are the Author of Today

change_your_life2

Your diet may not work, but you do. The latest fad might fade away, but you won’t. You are the life force behind change. Every decision, every discipline, every effort, is chiseling away; revealing the masterpiece within.

Don’t rely on things, methods, people, ideology, traditions; utilize them, and then create your own. All Creation lives within you! You are alive. Vibrant. Spectacular. You are powerful, beautiful, loved and lovable. There’s no better you than you.

Don’t give your power away. Be careful who you credit for your success. Great inspiration doesn’t transform; it ignites. You have the right stuff. You are made of the right stuff. Deep down inside of you is the you you’ve always dreamed of being. Today is your day to let your light shine, to let you come shining through.

Be you through and through. Love yourself. Hold your head up high. Do something today that makes you feel a bit taller. Stretch up on those tippy toes and smell the air up there where you belong. Celebrate yourself!

Leave the sad song, the who did you wrong song. Drop the chains, the guilt and the shame. You are not a mistake. It’s all been a test to show you how strong you are, what you are really made of.

Go out and create what you want today. It’s your life. It’s your story. You are the author of today.

2016 Final Thought: Lean Into 2017

2016 Final Thought: “Lean into 2017 Headfirst”

Lasting change comes headfirst.

Long before I ever ran my first mile, I spent time everyday SEEING myself running; being the person I wanted to be.

I paced myself in my mind. I even set up obstacles to overcome. Everyday I kept pushing myself harder and further – in my mind. I could even FEEL how good it felt to accomplish my goal, long before I ever took my first step.

Then one morning, weeks later, my body got out of bed, the running shoes went on, and out the door I went. It wasn’t forced; it was time. The guy I saw in my head all those weeks prior finally showed up.

No diet. No pill. No doctor. It all started in the way I saw myself.

Your greatest transformation begins in your head not in your hand.

Your New Year’s resolutions won’t make you; you will make your New Year’s resolutions, by BECOMING the person you want to become.

When what you do becomes who you are, you will do what you do instinctively. No one will need to drag you to the gym; you will desire to go.

I don’t run to become a runner. I run because I Am a runner, and that’s what runners do.

Become the person you want to be, and he or she will do the rest.

Lean into 2017 headfirst to jumpstart your New Year and maximize your results.

See it. Believe it. Be it!

Happy New Year!

Jeff

Life Lessons, My Journey

Feeling Stuck?

Are you feeling stuck? Check to see if you are still afraid of what almost happened.

I was riding the trails on my mountain bike today when I hit a patch of loose sand. The bike jerked suddenly to the left, and I found myself airborne headed over the handlebars. I was able maneuver my way out of it without crashing.

(“I’m ok honey, really.”)

(That was for my wife’s benefit who is reading this the same time as you are.)

For a mile or so up the trail, I kept replaying what almost happened; in technicolor. Several times I even found myself flinching at a fall I’d never taken; only in my mind.

When we encounter “near misses” it does something to our psyche. We get stuck for fear of what could have happened but never did. (Afraid of the shadows.)

I turned my head off, cranked up my Foreigner Pandora station, and blazed my way through the rest of the trail.

Do you find yourself stuck?

Check to see if you are still afraid of something that almost happened; a close call that has you a bit jumpy. If so? Face it. Embrace it. And Erase it.

1. Face it — It didn’t happen, but even if it did, you are resilient. You bounce back.

2. Embrace it — Bad things happen, even to the best of us. Failure is a part of success. Downgrade the threat. Don’t buy into the panic.

3. Erase it — Eradicate the fear before it turns into a stronghold and keeps you from achieving your destiny.

Get back in the saddle and go full speed ahead! Rewrite your movie. This time see yourself winning!

Do you find yourself stuck?

The fear of something that never happened could be holding you back. Time to face it, embrace it, and erase it so you can get on with it!

Speaking of getting on with it, I’ve got a ride to finish. I’m getting back on the trail again. Thanks for listening (or I should say reading). Catch you next time.
