Déjà vu, from French, literally “already seen”, is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced, has already been experienced in the past, whether it has actually happened or not.
You are at a very pivotal point in your life and career, and even more importantly, your purpose and destiny. Pay VERY close attention to where you are. If you sense you’ve “been here before,” Déjà vu could be telling you something.
Destiny IS a mystery, but one that can be solved if you recognize the clues. If you pay close enough attention, you can discern when Déjà vu, or your cycle, as I call it, is telling you something.
I received an email recently from a client and immediately I determined, “That’s it!” I was done with the relationship. The client, once again, was asking for more than I could give. I didn’t want to hurt feelings or run the risk of loosing business, but holding on to the business was becoming more devastating than loosing it. Or was it? Was it the client who was bothering me, or was it me?
The thoughts and feelings you have at this very moment – the moment you are about to make a decision: to let a client go or to take on a new one, to move to another town, to take a new job, or to end a relationship – if you really STOP and think about it hard enough, you’ve been here before. It may be different faces and different places but the thoughts and feelings are the same.
What are your thoughts and feelings telling you to do this time?
Before you act on what you think and feel, STOP and ask yourself this question. Where did these thoughts and emotions lead me the last time?
You’ve already responded to these same promptings once, or even multiple times. What was your outcome before?
The outcome you had before will repeat itself if you make the same decision today you made the last time you found yourself in this place.
Before you make this decision that’s in front of you today, you MUST look back at the outcome of the decision you made before when you had these same thoughts and feelings.
How did it work out for you then? The outcome you had before will repeat itself if you make the same decision today you made the last time you found yourself in this place.
If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you will keep getting what you’ve been getting.
Suggestion: Put your decision off for a few more days. Get quiet, and really ask yourself WHY you want to make this decision in this manner? Are you reacting, or are you responding? What are you trying to prove? Is pride interfering? Is insecurity prodding your aggravation? What factors are persuading you to make this decision?
Ultimately, this decision will lead you one of two places: the familiar, or to a place you’ve never been before.
KEY: When your decisions lead you to a place you’ve never been before, you’ve broken the cycle and have set yourself free!
