Freedom is the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. Freedom is the absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action. Coercion is the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threat.
I would venture to say that we could find two or more to agree that the definition of freedom our country was founded on reads a bit different today than our founding fathers and mothers had in mind. But what if there is another freedom; a New Freedom that has been in The Plan for our Nation, and World, all along?
What if the freedom our country was founded on was indeed that; a foundation? What if there is another level, a deeper meaning, an evolution of freedom that has been being shaped over the last 200 plus years? What if the freedom, as you and I maybe once knew, is being re-born?
How can you definitively define something when all influencing elements are not yet present?
How can you measure definitively something that is infinite? You can’t. As soon as you attempt to measure or define infinity; infinity takes on new shapes, sizes, forms and dimensions. By the time the ink dries on the definition you so masterfully penned, the definition is outdated.
The core of freedom is courage; courage to believe the impossible. Who, on this day of freedom, is courageous enough to let go of the only thing you know to be true about freedom to embrace what could possibly be true? How can we ever know what could be if we only hold on to what was or what is?
One Final Thought: Freedom may cost; but freedom doesn’t charge.
Freedom doesn’t require membership dues. Demanding someone respect your freedom is coercion. Coercion is the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threat. If you demand that I recognize your freedom(s), in return, respect me for mine.
I don’t charge you for my freedom, please don’t charge me for yours by suing me over what you don’t agree with or accept in me, while demanding I accept what I don’t agree with in you! Our freedom has cost us both our very lives; why destroy each other now by trying to defend it?
Hasn’t freedom cost enough already?
This forth of July season, let’s allow a new new freedom to ring deep within our soul. Not my definition, or your definition, but purely freedom; the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.
Let a new freedom ring!
