There is a “time” and “season” for everything. Disappointment, and discouragement, like billowing waves, pound our lives seemingly with no end in sight. But all disappointment and all discouragement comes to an end. All setback, all difficulty and all affliction have their way, for a season; but all have an expiration date.
Nahum 1:9 – “What do ye imagine against the LORD? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.”
The Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution provides, “No person shall … be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb.”
Whatever your “accusers” have judged you guilty for in your previous season, whatever “mess” you feel you’ve made of your life and future in the last season, whatever mistake or failure you believe has disqualified you, you CAN NOT be tried a “second time” for the same offense.
Check for a pulse. Have one? You made it! If you are still breathing, you’ve “served your time” and you are now FREE to go!
The time of your disappointment, despair, and discouragement has expired! You’ve made it through your time of affliction. You have outlived what has destroyed others, and what was meant to destroy you.
Now position yourself for a comeback. Posture yourself for resurrection. Poise yourself for total victory. Affliction will not rise up the second time.
